There were 24 entries in the first of two $50,000 Super High Roller events, generating a prizepool of $1,164,000 that would be paid out to the final four players.

But after the elimination of Cary Katz in third place, the final two players quickly agreed to an ICM chop. As chipleader, Chris Brewer was declared the winner, earning the title, the trophy, and the largest share of the prizepool. This victory marks the largest live tournament cash of Brewer’s career, and it’s his first trophy from Seminole Hard Rock.

The Money Bubble began with five players left, and it lasted for about an hour and a half before Elio Fox got his short stack all in with Ac8d, but failed to improve against Brewer’s JsJc.

The final four were in the money, and the key hand came a short while later when Sean Perry shoved the river with a ten-high bluff, only to get snap-called by Chris Brewer, who had the nuts after flopping a straight. Brewer doubled into the lead, while Perry was eliminated in fourth place a short while later.

In the final hand of the night, Cary Katz got it all in with a flush draw and two overcards, but couldn’t catch up to Sean Winter, who turned trips to win the pot. Katz was out in third place, while Winter tightened up the chip counts for heads-up play.

Chris Brewer  –  1,690,000  (113 bb)
Sean Winter  –  1,310,000  (87 bb)

At that point, Brewer and Winter quickly agreed to an ICM chop, as they both felt that they were so deep that it could take a very long time to reach a winner. Plus, there will be another $50,000 Super High Roller tomorrow afternoon, and both Brewer and Winter plan to play it.

Return to SHRPO.com tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:00 pm, when the second $50,000 Super High Roller gets underway. See you then!
