Event 9: Forman Full House

$250 Buy-In Seniors No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

As we get close to the break for the Seniors Event, it also brings the last level before rebuys are over.  With the red all-in buttons flying around the tables, Al Forman (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) took advantage of one of those moments.

With the Ad on the board and a round of betting, a seemingly harmless 4c came on the turn and the chips hit the middle between Forman and his opponent.  Forman held As4h vs Ah8c and added the 4s for the full house building his stack and sending another player to the registration line to re-enter.

Event 8: Lamphere On A Roll

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300/25 Ante

Event 7 Champion Adam Lamphere (Nashville, MI) is back in action today looking to continue his twelve-month heater.

Starting off with a runner-up at a MSPT event last August, Lamphere added three WSOP cashes to his resume including a 41st finish in this year’s Main Event.  Picking off the victory here just a couple of days ago, Adam will try to put together another deep run and get a piece of this 1 Million Dollar Guarantee.

Lamphere entered the break at 45,150 chips here in Flight 1C.

Event 9: 4’s All Around

$250 Buy-In Seniors No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 75/150

As we arrived at the table, Andrew Klivan (Miami, FL) had pushed all-in on a 3h2c6s5s board with Miguel Buenafe (West Seneca, NY) having already bet the turn.  Buenafe asked for a count and then made the call.

Klivan flips over 4s4c for the straight and Buenafe responds with “Pocket fours?  Really?” and turns over his 4h4d to also show a straight with the same hand.

Klivan who said he’d only won one hand to that point today was not pleased with the chop but stays alive in Event 9.

Event 8: “You Can’t See Me”

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

Thomas Collazo got caught in a game of peek-a-boo.

The Miami resident was in a three-way pot on the button that had already gotten to 6,500 pre-flop.  With a 10h9c2h flop, the two players in front of Collazo checked around and Thomas followed.

The turn brought the 7s and Collazo’s opponents once again check to him.  Collazo bet 2,300 and the player two seats to his left makes a reluctant call.

With a 5s on the river and Collazo staring down his competition, the player begins to move his hand up and down over his eyes with a smile trying to break Thomas’s concentration.  Collazo would have none of it and fired out a 3,100 chip bet and got his opponent to show a pair of 8’s before the fold.

Event 9: “Miami” John In The House

$250 Buy-In Seniors No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 2: 50/100

The Seniors Field quickly increased to 93 players by the start of Level 2 and taking his seat was poker legend “Miami” John Cernutto.

The three-time WSOP bracelet winner has once again shown he is always a force to be reckoned with already putting up two top-three finishes in Events 2 & 7 in this 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Cernutto will certainly be on of the players to watch in this event as it progresses as well as the rest of this series.

Event 8: Ryan Tepen Takes One Down

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 75/150

More top pros are making their presence felt in Event 8 including Ryan Tepen who played Flight 1A yesterday but skipped 1B for a night on the town with some friends.

Tepen quickly found himself in a five-way pot.  Out of the small blind, Tepen fired at a 9hQs2H board getting only caller from the button.  After an 8c fell on the turn, both players checked.  An 8h on the river brought an bet from Tepen and a quick fold from his opponent giving Tepen the hand and a solid pot to add to his stack.

Event 9: Seniors Event Off To Strong Start

$250 Buy-In Seniors No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

64 players have already gotten into today’s Seniors Event with more filing in.  With an outstanding start, it stands to be an exciting first day for Event 9.

With this being a re-entry event and players starting with 10k in chips, we’ll be in for an entertaining event with chips flying around the tables.  As one player said just before cards went in the air looking down at his stack, “One boo-boo and it’s over.”
