Asher Conniff (who was down to 20,000 chips during the last level) opened to 13,000 under the gun, and Jonathan Little called on the button. The flop came , and Conniff check-called a bet of 15,000 from Little. He check-called another 25,000 after the turn, and the river was the . When Coniff checked for a third time, Little made a covering bet for about 70,000 effective.
“F***ing Jon,” Conniff lamented, spending a minute or two thinking through the spot. “I guess I’m going out on the bubble, huh Johnny?”
After another few seconds, Conniff called to put himself at risk. Little showed to win the pot with queens full, and Conniff was eliminated in 44th place.
The 43 remaining players are now in the money, each of them guaranteed to earn at least $16,525.
