Josh Reichard, WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Champion (WPT)

The WPT Poker Showdown Championship is historically one of the biggest games in our history, setting records and drawing players from around the world, and this year was no different. The tournament attracted 1,869 entries to the $3,500 buy-in tournament and Josh Reichard was the last player standing, taking the top spot along with $839,300.

“It’s more than double my career high score,” Reichard told WPT reporters after his win. “All my titles [to][this][point] are minor league titles. This is a major league title. It feels great to finally break through and have a win of this magnitude.”

The tournament nearly doubled the $3,000,000 and featured a prize pool worth $5,980,800. The tournament played down over several days until six players were still in contention and they traveled to Las Vegas to play for the title in front of the WPT cameras.

Reichard conquered a tough final table to take the top spot along with a seat in the WPT World Championship. He joined an impressive list of Poker Showdown Champions and we look forward to seeing him back in South Florida to celebrate.
