In a room full of chip stacks, our two biggest were as close as they could be without being tied. Our walk among the tables found Julian Roldan sitting with 77,900 and Brandon Berkenfeld only one black chip behind with 77,800.

Level 4 is coming to an end which means the first break is near. They will play it out and take 15 minutes to refresh and restore.

Tables are filling up as players wake up and make their way to the Grand Ballroom. The count is nearing 400 and we haven’t hit the afternoon yet.

We found two familiar faces in the crowd with some success with us. Jeff Kessler booked the biggest cash of his career when he finished third in the $1,000,000 guarantee opener for more than $100K. He also has a trophy from winning the 2013 RRPO Seniors Event.

That same year, Larry Klur went big in our first ever SHRPO $10,000,000 guarantee Championship. He went out on the final table bubble but took home a cool $116,350 consolation payout.

We love to put plenty of non-hold’em games on the schedule and this series is no different. The popular H.O.R.S.E. mix game is running today and it will draw a talented crew. The $400 buy-in tournament rotates games between Limit Hold’em, Limit Omaha 8, Razz, Seven-Card Stud, and Seven-Card Stud 8.

The Event 4 champion will need to show skill in all five games to walk away with the title.

Players start with 12,000 stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30 pm and they have a dinner scheduled at 5:30 pm. They will return from the dinner break to play down to the final table and eventual H.O.R.S.E. champion.

Cards fly at 11 am and we will hit all the highlights along the way.

The second day of the RRPO series is here and we can expect another big crowd in the Grand Ballroom after a great start to the series on Wednesday. The first two flights of Event 1 drew more than 1,000 entries and it should be even bigger today.

The $400 buy-in tournament has a $1,000,000 guarantee and eight starting flights. The first two put more than $340,000 towards that number and the seven-digit prize pool is a lock.

Players start with 20,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, going up to 40 minutes on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm with unlimited re-entries options. Flight C will continue into the evening and come to an end when 10% of the field remains. Those players will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at 1 pm already in the money.

It will be a fun day in the Grand Ballroom and we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Event 2 was the second game on the schedule but one of the first that would award a trophy. It was a $400 Limit Omaha 8 tournament that drew a great 116-entry field and Jay Kerbel outlasted them all to pick up the outright win.

Kerbel earned $11,315 for the win after a tough heads-up battle against Ziya Rahim and dispatching a tough opponent in Joel Harwood.

Congrats to Jay and good luck tomorrow in the H.O.R.S.E. tournament!
