Event 17: Back To Back Eliminations; Down To Nine

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 24: 12,000/24,000/4,000 Ante

Two players quickly went down almost simultaneously and Event 17 has now reached its final table.

The first victim was Dustin Tragethon.  Tragethon was looking in great shape to get a needed double-up holding AcAs against Emil Soffer’s AhQc  but the heart turned out to be the key as a heart flush of 5h9h3hQhKh rolled off and cracked Tragethon’s aces knocking him out in 11th place.

Ruslan Dykshteyn was then dismissed from the tournament.  After Jamie Gomez hit another set against Dykshteyn leaving him with only 7,000 chips.  Dykshetyn doubled up but only delayed the inevitable as he was all-in against Gomez and Sean Yu.  Gomez hit a pair of nines and Dykshetyn mucked his cards finishing in 10th place.

Both players win $939 for their efforts over the past two days.

Ruslan Dykshteyn - 10th Place ($939)

Event 17: Soffer Chipping Away, Smith Out

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 23: 10,000/20,000/3,000 Ante

David Smith couldn’t survive the big hit he’d taken a few mintues ago and is gone.  Smith lost most of his chips to Jamie Gomez after Smith flopped aces but Gomez flopped a set of nines.  After doubling up, Smith could not hang on and finishes in 12th place.

In the meantime, Emil Soffer has been more than holding his own on the other table.  Soffer took two hands off of Josias Santos and has now gotten to 1.325 million.

Event 17: Fortin and Michel Down, Santos Up

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 23: 10,000/20,000/3,000 Ante

Bruno Fortin has been eliminated from Event 17.  Fortin pushed his remaining 72,000 into the middle and was called by Ross Lebo and Louis Leo V.

After Leo fired out on the flop, Ross got out of the way.  Leo’s AsQh faced off against Fortin’s Ac2h.  Fortin could not catch up and Fortin was done for the night in 14th place.

In the meantime, Billy Michel also hit the rail falling in 13th.

All the while, Josias Santos has been quickly moving up the leaderboard.  Santos now sits at 1,280,000 chips and could be headed for a duel with Lebo.

Event 17: Cleaning House

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 22: 8,000/16,000/2,000 Ante

It didn’t take long as four players have already been dispatched from our last 18 players.

Yves Fequiere went down in 18th place, Daniel Letts was gone in 17th and Steven Cohen in 16th.

But the game changer may have just went off as Darin Thompson just lost his large stack to chip leader Ross Lebo and went out in 15th.  Lebo now has a wall of chips that may prove to be too much the rest of the field to overcome.  With the win, Lebo now moves to an incredible 2,660,000 chips with the chip average at 558,857.

Event 17: The Challengers

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 21: 6,000/12,000/2,000 Ante

Two of the top stacks aside from Ross Lebo have been seated next to each other trying to become a major threat for the Event 17 title.

Ruslan Dykshteyn has lost a little ground but is still standing strong at 580,000 while Sean Yu is sitting on 637,000 chips.  Because of the seating on the re-draw, they may have to get through each other first before facing down with Lebo.  We play on with 23 players remaining.

Event 17: Tales From Table 10

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 20: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante

Two wild hands just took place on Table 10 taking us under the 27 player mark.

In the first hand, Jeff Goodrich pushed his 91,000 chip stack into the middle and was called by Ravi Shanmugam with 164,000 and Homero Molina just behind him.  The rest of the table folded and the cards were turned up:

Goodrich: TsTh
Shanmugam: AcKh
Molina: AhKd

Goodrich liked what he saw especially after Td came out in the window. But unfortunately for him it was followed by JhQd giving his opponents the nut straight and eliminating Goodrich.

The very next hand saw chip leader Ross Lebo calling an all-in opponent with As10d taking on 9s9c. It was a different hand but the same result as the flop came out JhQdKd giving Lebo another flopped nut straight and another victim on his reign of terror over this tournament. The win put Lebo at the 1.2 million chip mark.

Event 17: Familiar Faces

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 19: 4,000/8,000/1,000 Ante

A few names we’ve seen before here at Seminole Hard Rock are in our final 36 players.

Bruce “SkullCrusher” Kramer, David Maddox and “No Limit Celtic” are all looking to reach the winner’s circle today and looking quite distinctive.

Kramer is decked out in his traditional black with his crystal skull card protector, Maddox is sporting a lid from his local haberdasher and No Limit Celtic – well, you can guess with the Bostic Celtics playing right now.
